Who’s behind ACBio?

ACBio was founded in 2024 in Switzerland by Anna Caballe, PhD (King’s College London), a life sciences marketer with 18 years of experience in leading academic institutions and biotech, first as a researcher, later as a communicator and marketer.

While working as a researcher at the University of Oxford, Anna realised that fundamental discoveries often remain in the lab, and high-impact publications aren’t enough to make funders, policymakers, and the public excited about scientific research. That’s when she got involved in scientific writing, learning what good communication and outreach looks like. 

Anna spent 6 years developing her career in marketing, business development, product management, and content strategy in the UK biotech sector. She successfully delivered company-wide content strategies, lead generation initiatives, and award-winning brand campaigns. Anna also worked with multidisciplinary teams and partners to develop new products and secure grant funding.

Besides her extensive research experience, which includes expertise in molecular & cell biology, virology, microscopy, and nanobiotech, Anna is certified in product marketing management and trained in scientific writing, digital marketing, and brand storytelling. Anna founded ACBio to combine her passion for scientific research and discovery with marketing and communications.
