Developing an interactive infographic on spatial multiomics for ALS research

We share our experience creating an interactive infographic showcasing the use of multiomics in spatial biology research for neurodegenerative diseases.

The project

The team at Lunaphore (Switzerland), a Bio-Techne brand, approached ACBio as they were preparing a new campaign to promote the application of their multiomics spatial biology platform for neurodegenerative disease research. They asked our team to ideate and develop an infographic to showcase Lunaphore’s solution for spatial biology research, featuring new data acquired using their products, COMETTM and HORIZONTM, on a disease model for the neurodegenerative disease Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

The challenge

Our client asked for the infographic to be highly engaging and to contain interactive elements throughout. The target audience was neurodegenerative disease researchers, investors, and tech scouts interested in fully automated solutions for studying multiple target detection (RNA and protein) to guide mechanistic studies and the search for clinically-relevant biomarkers. The infographic needed to contain a balance of ALS epidemiology data, impactful imagery obtained on COMETTM characterizing cell subtypes in healthy and ALS mouse brain tissue samples, and iconography to illustrate Lunaphore’s fully automated workflow.

The work

At ACBio, we worked on conceptualising the infographic, defining a clear structure and specific objectives and messaging for its different sections. After an initial outline and discussions with the Lunaphore team, we defined four sections: the ALS challenge, Why spatial multiomics, Meet COMETTM, From data to discovery. We then proceeded to the creation of the content, including all copywriting and figure creation based on brand-new ALS spatial multimonics data provided by the technical team at Lunaphore. This stage also included the creation of a detailed design brief and a visual walk-through draft document to guide the creative team on the iconography needed, figure arrangement, and desired user interactivity experience.

During the design and review phases, we worked closely with the product team at Lunaphore and the creative team at Bio-Techne to ensure clear product messaging and a smooth user experience for the final interactive infographic.

The outcome

The interactive infographic on spatial multiomics for ALS research featured in Lunaphore/Bio-Techne’s booth at the 2025 Society for Neuroscience (SfN) meeting in San Diego, where attendees were able to interact with the infographic in a uniquely engaging and visually appealing manner. The infographic was soon after published on Lunaphore’s website (available on their Resource Hub) and also promoted through an email marketing campaign, allowing thousands of people worldwide to learn more about ALS and the power of Lunaphore’s multiomics technology for neurodegenerative research.
